    Tony Booth
Is This All There Is To A Honky Tonk?
This country legend returns to the studio for his first album in over ten years-and it's a winner.
In his first recording in over ten years, Tony Booth hits a home run with “Is This All There Is To A Honky Tonk?” Booth’s vocals have not lost their distinctive sound that established him as one of the most promising vocalists of the 1970’s. Booth revisits four of his previous hits including “The Keys In The Mailbox” “Cinderella” and “Lonesome 7-7203” in his new project for Heart of Texas Records based in Brady, Texas. He also rerecorded the Buck Owens (his former boss man) song “Sweethearts In Heaven.” He shines in the new material that was hand selected for this reunion project including the title track “Is This All There Is To A Honky Tonk?” “I was told that the song was actually written for me when I was recording for Capital Records,” Booth said. “For some reason, I never got a hold of it and Jerry Naylor cut it. I had to call three or four people to get a copy of the song just to record it. I always said that if I did another album that I was going to include that song.” New traditional country songwriters Justin Trevino and Guyanne McCall composed “Play Me The Truth” while veteran Glenn Sutton contributed “You Look Like Someone That Used To Love Me” and “I’ve Been Around Love Long Enough” for the album. “I wanted to include a song that my brother Larry wrote for Gene Watson,” Booth said. “That is the reason I recorded ‘My Memories Of You.’ I have always loved that song and it really fits well in the project.” Booth rounds out the album with “Losing You Just Dawned On Me Today” and “Another Chance At Love.” Justin Trevino produced “Is This All There Is To A Honky Tonk” and the album features Jake Hooker on bass, Randy Lindley on rhythm guitar, Randy Corner on lead guitar, Justin Trevino on harmony vocals, T. Bonta on piano, Reggie Rueffer on fiddle, Johnny Cox on steel guitar and Jim Loessberg on drums. “We are delighted that Tony Booth chose Heart of Texas Records to release this long awaited comeback album,” Heart of Texas Records President Tracy Pitcox said. “Tony has been semi retired for the last several years since leaving the Gene Watson organization. He is now back recording, touring and really enjoying Country Music better than ever!” “Is This All There Is To A Honky Tonk?” is available at record stores that carry traditional country music or online at www.heartoftexascountry.com.
