Derrick Randolph is one of Gospel Musics most powerful and multi talented singers and songwriters that can be found in the Southeast! I have been blessed and inspired by so many people throughout my 31 year career in Gospel Music. As I have traveled across the country singing and ministering, I have met so many precious and loving people. I have had the privilege of sharing the stage and working with the likes of Donna Stoneman of The Grand Ole Opry’s Stoneman Family, Charlie Louvin, The Kingsmen, The singing Cookes, The Freeman’s, The Perry’s, The McKameys, The Interstate Quartet, Justified, Atlas Howard of the Original Blackwood Brothers, and so many more. Many of them have become my very close friends. They all have a special place in my heart and life and have helped mold me and my style of music to what you hear today. This CD is dedicated to all of the above but especially all the fans of Gospel Music whom without this project would not be possible. I have seen countless souls saved and given over to Christ over the years I have been on the road. This is why we travel and do what we do. I would not have traded one day of travel or one penny spent on recording and singing the Gospel for anything that life had to offer. It made me who I am today. A servant of the Highest God. I think in serving others we in turn learn more about ourselves and others. It is the people that are special and make the difference in everyday lives. God uses willing vessels like you to be a blessing to others. Christ came into this world that we might have life abundant. He accepted people just as they were. He did not condemn them nor try to make them feel bad about themselves. I think none of us need help doing that. We are quite capable of accomplishing that on our own. I learned a long time ago that nothing I can do or say in and of myself can touch the heart of people. And only in being a willing vessel can you hope to accomplish the tasks at hand in our world. Only God can do that. Let Him work through you. Through His word and life we can see God’s perfect plan coming to fruition. OLD REASONS is my latest attempt in looking back over the years with admonition and great love and getting the privilege to somewhat relive some of those old songs that got me to where I am today as a person, a Christian, and an artist… and the ability to pay tribute to all of the ones who paved the way for us to have, understand and be what we all are today…and that is blessed children of a loving God. We now live in a world obscured by evil thoughts, plans and hurtful people who have been tricked by lies that will try to get you as far from the truth as possible. But these same people are loved by God and we must show them love…God’s Love. Always remember you may be the only angel someone may ever see. You may speak the only kind word someone ever hears. You may have the only loving touch someone will ever feel. And you may be the only Christ like person someone ever encounters. Love hard, live boldly and be you…because you are precious just the way you are. For we are ALL Brothers and Sisters of Christ!!!You may be the only OLD REASON someone comes to Christ!God Bless You ALL!!!
