    Nelson Hinds

Great new jazz tunes accessible for the novice while wowing the aficionado.
Nelson Hinds is a talented instrumentalist, composer and arranger. He has toured with the Woody Herman Band and later with the Chuck Mangione Orchestra. In 1999, he was a featured soloist with the Terrance Blanchard Quintet at the Telluride Jazz Festival. Nelson is featured on several recent albums with Chris Daniels, Garner Pruitt, the group Rasputin with Dave Hidalgo and a soon to be released album by Ethan Mesple. Playing with Nelson are a very talented group of players: Peter Sommer on tenor sax, Brad Goode on trumpet, John Gunther on tenor sax, Bob Rebholz on flute and tenor sax, Eric Gunnison on piano, Ron Bland on bass, Paul Romaine on drums and Todd Reid on drums. "Without musical prejudice I can enthusiastically recommend this recording and deem it one of the best I have heard since I have been reviewing for JR247." -Reviewer John Ferrara Jazz Radio 247 That review of the album on Jazz Radio 24/7 was right on target. -Eric Cohen Music Director WAER - Syracuse
