    Hungry Lucy
    Glo (eco edition)
Gypsy electronica with haunting female vocals
On their second full length release, "Glō", Hungry Lucy take their dark trip-hop sound and lighten it up a little. The duo, consisting of Christa Belle (vocals/lyrics/music) and War-N Harrison (music/production), beat the sophomore curse by producing an album that not only rivals 1998's "Apparitions" but surpasses it in songwriting, performance & production. The mellow grooves & beautiful melodies remain and are augmented by more diversity both in songwriting and performance. Christa Belle's vocal performances are simply enchanting going from soothing angelic tones to operatic harmonies to seductive beckoning all within the span of a song or two. War-N's programming and production goes in the high contrast directions we've come to expect from him. Soaring string arrangements, over laid-back grooves, jazz trio sensibilities with unhuman robotic bleeps all thrown into the mix resulting in an unusual, yet pleasing sound. "Glō" is a sonic rollercoaster ride from the opening seductive tones of "Could it Be?", sounding like Collide meets Tricky to the haunting head-bobber "Into Pieces" which captures the electronic soul of bands like Lamb and Olive. "Telltale Shot" soars with emotion sounding like Kate Bush writing with Zero 7. The positive note of "Her Song" is pure pop masterpiece like a light shining through the darkness. Not content to only present their own ideas, Hungry Lucy also encourage people to download a second "disc" with Glō that contains remixes from bands such as Chandeen, Claire Voyant, bloodWIRE (ex Battery) & Trigger10d. From dance floor to chillout room these remixes put an alternate spin on the original productions and serve as nice companion to the main disc. Note: The download URL for the second disc contents is: http://glo.hungrylucy.com/downloads/ ------------------------ The duo of War-N Harrison & Christa Belle have been creating music as Hungry Lucy since 1998. The proudly independent duo is now seeking to expose their music through new and interesting channels. More info at www.hungrylucy.com
