    Plain Wrap
Original Music For A Generic World
Old-school hardcore punk with a touch of pop melody from Orange County, CA. Originally released on vinyl only in 1985.
Plain Wrap was formed in 1983 by singer/guitarist Don Burnet, aka Don Nix, Don Wrap, and Dallas Don. The original drummer was Mike Rosso, a bandmate of Don's from the earlier hardcore band Mox Nix. After a few others came and went, the position of bass player went to Bob Gnarly, formerly of No Crisis. The band was centered in Huntington Beach, California, and played many shows in Southern California, and also did several short tours in the Northwest and Southwest U.S. Plain Wrap opened for bands such as Social Distortion, Circle Jerks, Vandals, TSOL, Dead Kennedys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, GBH, The Dickies, The Exploited and many more. In 1985, Plain Wrap released their debut LP entitled "Original Music for a Generic World". Album sales were brisk, more touring and local shows ensued, and the band enjoyed international radio airplay and fandom, as well as being a favorite on KROQ's "Rodney on the Roq" radio program. In 1986, Bob Gnarly left the band, and Plain Wrap officially ended as Don and Mike started a new and decidedly different band called 3-D Picnic. In the spring of 2008, the boys, now grown men with wives and children, decided to reunite for a benefit show in (where else) Huntington Beach. They (and the audience) all had so much fun that they decided to keep playing shows. And to herald their return, 2008 saw the release of "Original Music..." on compact disc, for the first time ever. Digitally remastered, with an 8 page foldout, the CD promises to be both sonically exciting and aesthetically exquisite, at least as much as a punk/pop record could be. It's a new century, and Plain Wrap is back!
