DJ I.N.C’s playing for clubs, private promoters, weddings, schools and other companies and organizations has allowed him to learn to dejay a variety of music, (e.g. Jazz, Acid Jazz, HipHop, House/Dance, Dancehall, Soul, Neo Soul, Brazilian, Dusties, Steppers, etc.) for specialty as well as diversified crowds.
DJ I.N.C, (Vice President of Chicago’s Soul Selectors), is the go to DJ for Chicago’s Hip, Trendsetting, A-List crowd when they need that responsible person to play for themselves and/or their family and close friends, (e.g. Mom’s Birthday or Sister’s Wedding Reception).

Considering himself a member of the wave of second generation HipHop listeners who grew up on 80’s & early 90’s HipHop, DJ I.N.C believes a lot of HipHop sounds and contributions to music are timeless. From the Disco and Funk inspired HipHop of the 70’s and 80’s that returned in late 90’s sampling to the early 90’s sampling and replaying of timeless Jazz and Soul music breaks that has made a significant return in the new millennium. As we grow…HipHop grows. The result of the growth of HipHop is Acid Jazz and Neo Soul/Nu Soul or today’s Soulful sounds. HipHop inspired and influenced Acid Jazz as independent musicians re_examined and re_explored many of the original Jazz breaks that HipHop sampled and even brought along artist considered old school into the now sound such as the case with Roy Ayers considered to be the God Father of today’s Acid Jazz sound. Also is the case similar with Neo soul where a lot of today’s Neo soul artist are HipHop babies who wanted to incorporate live elements into the Jazz & Soul sampled inspired music they were making. You can hear Native Tongue A Tribe Called Quest influenced production in everything from early D’Angelo to Erykah Badu all the way up to Jill Scott and Dwele and even in the successful Hidden Beach Unwrapped Music Series.
With the Afterset, DJ I.N.C tries to capture the growth and progression of HipHop and incorporate the expression and improvisation of live musicianship without pigeonholing the music and allowing everyone to listen. The Biggest example of this is when Chicago's Power 92.3FM adding “Grown & Sexy”, from Tha Afterset: Select Music Programming, into it's mixshow rotation. Power 92 is the sister station of Soul 106.3FM. Whereby Soul 106.3 is aimed @ the 35&up demographic and Power 92 is more HipHop and aimed @ the 18-35 demographic.
Tha Afterset has received critical and financial success with all of their releases to date.
Tha Afterset has performed live @ Venues across the city of Chicago including but not limited to The District, Slick’s, Betty’s Blue Allstar Lounge, The Negro League Café`, Close up 2 Jazz Club & Solo.
Tha Afterset have also had the distinct pleasure of playing a jam session w/ World Renown Superstar Mr. Dwayne Wiggins of Tony, Toni, Tone` fame. They were also invited to play @ The St. Vincent Music Festival in March of 2008.
In Addition to the above mentioned Radio airplay, Tha Afterset has had several more songs featured on radio, (locally & internationally).
Most recently, five(5) tracks from Tha Afterset: Select Music Programming were adding to the rotation of SmoothJazz.com and Tha Afterset has enjoyed more exposure, listeners and buyers through this newly developed relationship with smoothjazz.com.
Over the past five years Chicago's 102.7FM, WVAZ (V103) has featured; Tha Bubby Duck, People Make the World go round, Welcome Back, Grown&Sexy, & Bubbs Lounge.
V103 mixshow DJ Chris Holiday & On Air Personality Casper as well as the Saturday Night Stepper’s Show Listeners continue to show support for all Tha Afterset projects as well as Soul 106.3FM & Power 92 continue to play Grown&Sexy as part of their rotation.
For this go around, DJ I.N.C along with Tha Afterset Players team with The Soul People. The result is "Tha Afterset Sessions: Volume 2".
The buzz single from Tha Afterset Sessions Volume 2, "Steppers Swagger", has recently been added to V103's mixshow rotation.
