    The Light Energy of Love
Using Reiki music, guided imagery, and mindful breathing, this meditation enhances and extends the Reiki session. Independently used, it reduces stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and insomnia.
The Light Energy of Love Reiki is a special form of energy sometimes called “Universal Life Force”. The name is a combination of two words. “Rei” is a pure form of high power and “ki” means life force. Reiki is an ancient healing art that was rediscovered in Japan in the late 1800’s through the work of Dr. Miakao Usui and passed down by a small succession of practitioners and teachers. Since 1980, access to training in Reiki has become more open and wide-spread. There are currently thousands of Reiki practitioners around the world, and countless people are benefiting from it’s healing gift. Reiki treatment is a gentle laying on of hands in which the practitioner places his/her hands with varying positions on the clothed body of the client. At no time is the client inappropriately touched. The treatment unblocks and balances the body’s natural energy. It is relaxing, nurturing, and freeing. A Reiki treatment usually lasts 45 - 50 minutes. The treatment is done in soft lighting, gentle music, and silence. However, the practitioner and client may engage in gentle conversation to assess progress and needs. Treatment may be stopped at any time by request. A client’s friend or family member is often present. People who experience Reiki treatments often experience an acceleration of the body’s natural ability to heal itself, improved function of thought and emotion, and reduced stress, lowered blood pressure and pulse. Some people experience reduced insomnia, anxiety, anger, depression and pain. Many experience improved mood, increased spiritual, physical and emotional strength. Daniel D. Fachting, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and Reiki Master. He received his Reiki training from Maureen Conroy, a Sister of Mercy from the Upper Room Spiritual Center in Neptune, New Jersey. He is the owner of Fachting Counseling Services in Clare, Michigan, which provides general counseling for individuals, groups, adults, children, and adolescents. Dr. Fachting has extensive experience helping clients overcome panic, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, childhood abuse, substance abuse and their effects. Dr. Fachting’s thirty years of teaching high school special education students enables him to be very effective with disruptive adolescents and children and their families. Most insurances are accepted along with a sliding fee schedule based on ability to pay. Dr. Fachting resides in Clare, Michigan with his wife of thirty-six years and their fifteen year old daughter.
