Music speaks for itself, but when it comes to Toronto’s Scarlet Sins, it shouts in your face.
The all-female four piece act Scarlet Sins is the latest gem on its way up through the dirt of Toronto’s music scene. Tagged by industry insiders as the ultimate hybrid of gritty Black Sabbath execution and edgy Alice In Chains alternative, the band scored a major victory with the independent release of their self-titled debut in 2008 and continue to use the album's momentum in their push towards a career on the world stage. And while the masses may zero in Scarlet Sins' collective sex appeal at the start, it's their brand of new old school metal that has earned them an international fan following.
Their trademark tribal groove coupled with singer Sylvya NuVynska's unique voice has set them apart and well above the wannabes and has beens, proving atmosphere and in-your-face aggression can be delivered in a single, solid package without having to cater to the all too common demand for T&A or aggression for aggression's sake. With numerous shows through Ontario and Quebec; being direct support for Motley Crue at the Sarnia Bayfest 2008, as well as a two day stand at the Powerbox Festival in Darrington, WA under their belts, Scarlet Sins continue to focus on bringing their music across live to anyone looking for something different, original and honest to sink their teeth into.
