With decades of professional singing and voice coaching experience, Lynn Skinner offers transgender women a fresh, playful, inspirational and musical approach to creative expression and voice training.
In this recording, Lynn draws a parallel between her life experiences as a vocal artist and those of transgender women. She introduces "10 Elements of Expression", weaving anecdotes, insights, wisdom, humor, and song into a voice training approach that integrates femininity, beauty and musicality.
Lynn shares her own quest for musical excellence and authenticity. She also encourages her listeners to look more deeply into those vocal trappings and inconsistent behaviors that keep them from "showing up" in their transition process more confidently, creatively and authentically.
Coaching transgender women is extremely rewarding for Lynn. As a performing musician who has had her own share of inhibitions, identity issues, and setbacks, Lynn has confronted the often unpredictable elements of fear, doubt, risk, and rejection that also plague TG women. In a nurturing and playful way, Lynn explores the more expressive aspects of the transitioning male-to-female voice. From a guided meditation to clucking like a chicken, she uses her voice like an instrument to inspire, entertain, and educate others.
Lynn Skinner has been a professional singer and voice coach for over 30 years. Through her business, Vocal Eyes Music®, Lynn offers world-class live performances, several CD releases on her own record label, and private/group vocal consultation and training techniques for performers and business professionals. She has also collaborated with speech pathologist, Kathe Perez, on the internationally acclaimed TG voice training series "Fundamentals of Your Feminine Voice".
