notes
The bi-line this North Carolina backwoods group caries with them, ‘Southern Punk Rock’ puts the pedal right where it belongs, all the way to the floor! Super Sport, explodes into action with their first release “Whoopass!”. Comprised almost entirely of veteran spotlight electro-rockers, the band has taken a dangerous turn into raw, rootsy', punky‘-tonk rock & roll. The record comes roaring out of the gate with the banjo fueled “It’s a Scam”, an in-your-face rant about common folks trying to keep up with pop culture. The slow swampy darkness of “Momma” is a beautifully poignant warning to young girls not to get knocked-up. The tight and polished growl of “The Bottom”, emphasizes the story of this front-lady’s nasty pursuit of success in a soulless music business. Tinged with bluegrass, southern-rock and bar room stompin‘, Super Sport is hot, wild and a pick-up truck full of fun.

Love This CD!
author: Geena SeigalMy boyfriend bough 'Whoopass!' through CD Baby in June. This album is so fun and crazy. We contacted Super Sport through Myspace and they said they're working on a new record. We will buy 10 copies when it comes out. You should at least buy this one! They ROCK!
Wow, just wow!
author: Stuart M.Sissy is my hero. Why isn't this group on the cover of every magazine? They look and sound like the best version of what is popular today. This is kind of sad really. Wow.
Never A Let Down
author: CJ KupchoI am also a fan of Michelle and Billy's former band, Voodou, and this was a brain opener for me. It's got a different twist that I haven't heard much before. I loved it. I kind of got addicted to the rockabilly power of the whole album. Great job...Look forward to more from Super Sport in the future!
Damn, I'd love to see this band live.
author: Darren McNiameThis CD is great. The female vocals are sexy and somehow "in your face" at the same time. The drums and bass kick ass. When I look at the live photos from their web-site, I really wish I was there too. I highly recommend "Whoopass!", Super Sport will be around for a while.
country rock to appeal to rivetheads
author: Matthew WeigelAs a fan of their old band Voodou, I wasn't sure what to expect from this CD, but I decided to give it a try. This is definitely country rock - the vocals aren't drowned out by instruments, and there's a rockin' beat but not as in-your-face as metal. The lyrics really seal the deal, turning the style on its head and making you sit up and listen. They seem a little uncomfortable with rockabilly, and it comes through... but it's still worth a listen.
This is a fun fun fun! kickass cd!
author: DebbeThe cd is great! Each song is full of energy! Love it!
Your friends are gonna be mad if you don't tell 'em
author: MonicaAfter finding Super Sport by accident, I bought this CD. One of those lucky finds I'm passing on to everyone. Kick ass, Whoopass! Good Morning, Firecracker and Meet Me By the Moonlight show the diversity, vocal artistry, and musicianship of these good folks from NC. Not a tune on it I fast forward through, and that makes it the current favorite here.
"WhoopAss" is the best name this album could have been called
author: Curtis MckivettThis is the best album i have heard come out of North Carolina in years. The production quality is incredible and the vocals she has fits so well with the guitar driven music. the songs remind me of my days growing up in Georgia. ITS JUST AN INCREDIBLE ALBUM
