The album that launched Cellsum and the Brain Surgeons. Blue Oyster Cult co-founder Albert Bouchard and Deborah Frost, noted rock scribe in the words of the New York Times, trace the musical journey of Albert Bouchard between his last Blue Oyster Cult album, 1988's Imaginos, in 1988 and this 1994 release.

This is the first and most lo-fi of all of the Brain Surgeons' efforts to date. But compare to other home-style recordings of one or two man type operations from anyone from Todd Rundgren to Billy Corgan or Guided By Voices, and Eponymous stacks up pretty well. And songs like jazzy, trumpet-laced "Soul Jive" or seductively jangly "Language of Love" only get better with time. Just like the most exquisite and precious wine.
Best Party-CD EVER!
