notes

Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze-a Chicago-style boogie and blues band was formed by Wally "Sweet Daddy" Greaney in 1990. Through the years Sweet Daddy has developed a loyal European following in Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, and Austria. Back home, the band tours regularly up and down the East Coast. With the release of their fourth CD titled "Back For More" Sweet Daddy looks forward to continuing to work at a successful Blues career which has already spanned over twenty years. He's recorded with the likes of Matt "Guitar" Murphy from the Blues Brothers, Jaimoe, drummer for the Allman Brothers, Ken Johnson drummer for James Cotton. Most recently, Wally has worked
with John Kay (of Steppenwolf fame) recording a DVD that was released on Rainman Records in June of 2004 titled John Kay & Friends. "Live At The Renaissance Center" .
He's also shared the stage with blues legends Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, KoKo Taylor, Junior Wells, Taj Mahal and BO Diddlie .

Sweet Daddy's smoking lead vocals, full-bodied harmonica, and soulful saxophone along with Mark Eastons burning gutiar and a rhythm section with Jimmy McNamara and Eddy Humber that groove's like mad. It all adds up to an unprecedented high energy Blues show that few bands can match. It's only a matter of time until people in cities and towns across America repeat the words spoken by the eighty-year-old trucker whose phrase gave rise to the bands name: "Lawd have mercy, Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze is in town!"

This is a great approximation of the Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze sound....bluesy, jazzy and ass - kicking simultaneously. Having known Wally and the band for nearly 20 years, I must say that this is some of their finest work ever captured on a cd. The interplay between the members of the band is amazing, particularly the way that Wally and guitar virtuoso Mark Easton play to/with/against each other. An amazing Duo!! While this CD is undeniably great, if ya really want to observe the chemistry that is SDCB live, you owe it to yourself to see them at a venue near you when they come to your town. And SDCB's NEWEST album, "Back For More" (soon to be available at CDbaby) will kick your ass even more. It is nearly impossible to describe the depth and polish of Wally's ensemble with words.....they just do not give enough credit to the quality of Wally and the band's blues.. so i guess you'll have to listen for yourself! When they call themselves "Blues that will blow you away", they are NOT kidding!! Trust me, if you listen once, you will definately be " Back For More"!! peace, pink jimi photon. webmaster, http://clik.to/sweetdaddy
