Liszt understood the appeal of virousity, and it was rare for him not to impose great demands on the pianist. In these Etudes, equal weight is given to musicality as to technique. Within these Twelve Etudes there is such a variety of musical expression, it can be said there is truly something for everyone's varied sensibilities. The range of Liszt's expressions is captured by Christopher's unique ability to reveal these expressions through his phenomenal interpretation of these astounding pieces.

    I know absolutely nothing about classical piano or Liszt. I happen to read about Liszt briefly at a message board I frequent and decided to find a CD with his work. After googling and searching I found this CD. Wallah, I rather enjoyed it. Complicated voicings played delicately. Thanks!

    I have heard many performances of the transcendental studies of Liszt, and it would be easy to think that all has been said. But this performance was as though listening to them for the first time. Very intelligent, well thought out performances, and a technique that takes everything in it's stride. In short. First class.
