notes
Singer/ Songwriter Tristen is 21-year-old student at Depaul University in Chicago. She has been writing and producing her own music for the past six years and released her first CD at age 16. Since then, Tristen has humbly accepted the accolades of music critics in Chicago.
"I draw inspiration from everyday life to create music. My life has continued to change and grow and, in turn, so has my work" stated Tristen. "'I am always learning and striving to make each album better than the last; with this record we wanted to make each song the best it could be. I truly feel this is my best work yet."
Among the Crowd was produced by Tristen and her guitarist/father Charlie Gaspadarek and features ten of Tristen's original compositions. Tristen plays piano on the record and is accompanied by guitarists, Charlie Gaspadarek and Kurt Miller. They rhythm section includes drummer Kyle Woodring (Deana Carter, John Mellancamp, Dennis DeYoung), and bassists Donn DeSanto and Adam Johnson. Additional contributing musicians include cellist Larry Gray, John Devlin on accordion, and Gerry Burns on B3 Organ. The record was engineer and co-produced by Larry Millas who has worked with the likes of Billy Idol, David Bowie, and Bruce Hornsby.
Tristen, who plays guitar and piano at her live shows, has opened for acts including Edwin McCain, Alana Davis, The Guess Who, and The Proclaimers at venues such as The Metro and The House of Blues in Chicago.

Thoughtful lyrics, beautiful music
author: Janet LawsonI love to listen to Tristen: Among the Crowd. The lyrics are so thoughtful, her voice is smooth as silk & rich as velvet. Hearing this CD brings me up if I'm down & keeps me feeling good when things are great. It's all good!
Excellent addition to everyone's cd collection
author: Larry MadayI bought this cd on a recommendation from another Chicago Artist Amanda Sena. Not knowing much about Tristen, I was surprised on how much I was into this cd. Impressive vocals and songwriting are displayed on this cd. From slow songs like America to a fun uptempo song like the Silly Song, no one can go wrong with this cd. My favorite tracks are Day By Day Wasting Time America and the Silly Song. I highly recommend this cd.
Don't miss this! Highly recommended. A real talent!
author: John NicholsTry listening to just one or two of Tristen's songs, and you'll see there is real talent here. I actually like all of the 10 tracks on this CD "Among the Crowd." Tristen has a remarkable voice. Very expressive and dynamic. She can convey emotions through her lyrics and voice in a powerful way. The CD is quite good overall. Excellent guitar, bass, drums, accordian, and piano - even a cello on one song. Great backing vocals and harmonies as well. I get the feeling we are seeing this artist at the beginning of a long and promising career. Don't miss this CD by Tristen. Highly recommended!
Amazing talent the region.
author: John BowlesAfter coming across Tristen's latest disc from a friend and having reviewed her other works years before, I believe that the talent within this young female singer/songwriter has dramatically improved over the years. A sense of life in progress is a unique mix from the eyes of a youngster. With years added on... more experiences will make this young girl into a women and then truly a star will be born.
Impressive music from a much improved artist!
author: Chris KadlecAs an owner of all three of Tristen's CDs from the last six or so years, I can most certainly say this CD is the best. Tristen may not be ready to perform on a national tour or anything [yet], but this CD shows the music and the artist (go Tristen!) has very much improved over time and I fully believe she will continue on this track and achieve all the goals she has set for herself. I would recommend this CD to anyone who would buy a CD of an artist such as Sheryl Crow maybe. It's not really pop... it's not really country... and I'm not sure it's quite folk. I'm not sure what this girl sings, but if you like the sound of that "mixed genre"... I'd totally give this one a try. Of course, feel free to buy her 4-track CD "Something Good"... and see the vast improvement. For a first full-length CD, this is absolutely great and as an owner of 130+ CDs, I'll openly admit... this one is certainly in the top 20! Highly recommended!!
