Out of this world? UFO Jim sings about um... alien abductions, the apocalypse and yes, even Kris Kringle! But he wraps these zany ideas in pretty good old-fashioned rock n' roll. Closely resembling the likes of Frank Zappa, ZZ Top, Kim Fowley, Captain Beefheart and Neil Young, this is visceral rock despite the celestial themes. I like it!"

ARTIST DIRECT REVIEW...of UFO JIM (By Sean Westergaard)
With the release of "Dancing With Aliens", UFO Jim created quite a singular piece of work. At first, it doesn't really seem so strange: kind of boogie/blues rock with celestial subject matter, delivered in UFO Jim's cross between Johnny Dowd and Stan Ridgway drawl. However, by the time you hit the song "Dancing With Aliens", there is clearly something different going on. A drum machine kicks out a nearly hip-hop beat, the Hammond organ so prevalent on many tunes turns into a demented sampler, and UFO Jim solos with one of the strangest, most unearthly guitar tones ever heard, while saying "aliens" every once in a while, followed by crowd cheers. It's difficult to discern whether the strange production is a cheap necessity or sheer outer-space genius. "UFO's & Giant Insects" flirts with disco, with buzzing keyboards and Hammond giving it an almost gospel-like fervor. Lots of good Chicago references, too. Then there's "Kris Kringle Song", another disco-influenced number, featuring the divine holiday sentiment "I like the women/I like the blues/I like the drugs/And I like the booze". All this from a man who strongly resembles William Lee Golden the bearded giant from the Oak Ridge Boys. author: Buddy Holly CheeseheadI was eating my cheese sandwich and serfing the web when I had visions of Aliens who like cheese telling me to check out these weird songs.I asked the aliens what cheese they liked best and they they said moon cheese and then I whoke up from the vision and there before me was UFO Jim's CD Baby page.So after listening to a couple of song clips I wanted to eat some moon cheese too.It has an out of this world boogy that will make aliens and humans want to dance. Jim you really rock and your songs are the real cheese-BHC

His music has been described as "Frank Zappa jamming with ZZ Top". Jim writes lyrics that are filled with dark imagery and zany insights. His production methods at times are unorthodox but work in the context and diversity of UFO's music. 'China Belle' is the opening track with its funky beat and wild keyboards combined with chunky bass lines and Jim rapping about weird scene in San Francisco. 'Pretty Little Fiend' flows on a swirling B3 and an up-tempo, bluesy beat leading into the funny hook line "pretty . . . fiend". 'Kris Kringle Song' combines holiday cheer with a disco beat and festive keyboards. In contrast are the somewhat sinister lyrics filled with innuendo. If you are looking for unique rock with outlandish imagery , UFO Jim and his band is for you!

author: ufonutThe music is great kinda like Frank Zappa and ZZ TOP but there are way to many woooo's in alot of the songs, way to many.To me this reminds me of a drunk or a Texan. They use that woooo alot. The music is awesome, some of the lryics are cool but some are repeated in too many of the songs.Over all- I'd still buy it.I didn't like some of Zappa's lyrics either- but own several of his albums.-not cds Buy it -it's only 7.99 worth it.
