notes
Here's Why You're Going to Enjoy This CD !
Great Singers & Great Songs - More than 1,200 performances were recorded to get the best 14 singers and the original songs that appear on this CD! All artists were Recorded Live during the annual UMO Open Mic in Greenwich Village.
Super High Quality Digital Recordings - The technical quality of our "Live" Master Recordings exceeds the capability of the commercial CD. Most instruments and vocals were fed directly from a high-end mixer to our custom digital interface. These are not edited studio recordings, though they sound so good you may think so.
How We Chose The Best 14
We recorded every performance (unless an artist requested no recording) during the seven months of the UMO Open Mic. We then pre-screened the recorded performances to eliminate cover songs and songs with performance and technical problems. From these "clean song performances" we chose "one best song" from each artist. (If an artist had multiple performances of a song, the "best version" was selected.) Out of those, the "best 14 songs" were chosen and put on this CD for your enjoyment.
Thanks For Your Support

Sincerely, Ernest "Joe" Budnick,

This cd is addictive - but in a nice way.
author: cathy mMy roommate bought this cd and she plays it all the time in our dorm. Now I find myself walking around singing the songs all day. I can't get them out of my head.
Nice Stuff ! Several genres covered but they all complement each other !
author: Jimmy DWhen I read that there was some 70's style (classic) rock I thought this was gonna be like an oldies thing. INSTEAD, BiG SURPRISE ! Great new songs with a blend of styles that all work together really well. I hope they make more of these. BTW, the live audio is superb. thanks.
Great live stuff ! Great sound !
author: Ron CanterFinally a live recording that sounds as good as a commercial CD and has lots of great singers and great songs on it. (In the past I bought other live recordings and they sounded like crap.) THIS ONE SOUNDS GREAT ! ---> I can't wait for UMO Music to make the next compilation ! Thanks for raising the bar! PS - I play this CD constantly and never get tired of it.
