ABOUT THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE

Part jazz, part rock, part blues, part convulsive moodswing, the unpronounceable's 4-man 6-piece takes complications and makes them sound good. Giving old fogies and young scallywags something to talk about since 1994, Pete Gustavson (guit-fiddle, bass-fiddle, croons) and Dan Kinsley (ivories, guit-fiddle, bass-fiddle) began their 2-man experiment in northeastern Pennsylvania. Phil Guidi (skins and cymbals) and Adam Gustavson (guit-fiddle, bass-fiddle) quickly joined the flavorful mix, and birthed what is known today as the unpronounceable.

Their music is a stylish cocktail of the likes of Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters and Black Sabbath - a hip new amalgamation of the original roots of rock and roll. They've been featured in such New York spotlights as The C-Note, CBGB, Arlene Grocery, Le Bar Bat and Makor, as well as Philadelphia's Tin Angel, Grape Street Pub and The Funhouse; appearing at fine colleges and universities and the smoke-filled bars that occupy the spaces between.

During the summer of 2002, the unpronounceable kicked off TourBaby, featuring the best local talent in 54 cities across the U.S. - created by members of CD Baby, the 2nd-largest online retailer of independent music. Last year, their rockabilly romp Ugly won a 2002 Lehigh Valley Music Award for Best Original Song; this year they've picked up nominations for Best Jazz Band and Best Male Blues Vocalist. In addition to an ever-growing schedule of engagements, they currently back some of the city's best female vocalists in their monthly Hooternanny rockabilly extravaganza hosted in NYC's Pussycat Lounge.

The unpronounceable stun, amaze, awaken and totally amuse everyone who has ever seen them. With all 3 frontmen taking turns on the upright bass and a drummer who sold his soul to the devil, they produce some of the most delicious jazz-flavored rock ever tasted. Their self-produced albums can be found for public consumption on CDBaby.
