notes
A few things to hear before we all blow up is the first release from a group of very talented, loving and co-dependent musician-hermits who live out their days in Berkeley, California working their drug-addled fingers to the bone just to bring you the best electronic-indie-space-pop you can get. Like silk from a spider's butt, Williamson spins out glistening strands of melody and emotion that slowly evolves into something beautiful and mesmerizing. They don't want to be your rock star, they just want to make you happy - give em a listen.

Twiddle your ears
author: LenoreThis is the kind of electronic music I can really get along with. Sure, there are plenty of well placed blips and sparkly prickles to titillate your eardrums, but this album is more than sterile electronica for electronica's sake. There's the guitar - warmth, blending shimmeringly into fore and background, maintaining the human element in a gleaming electro wonderland. The rhythm section - it doesn't take center stage, but after a few listens you realize its meticulous complexity and almost wish it were more protruding to be admired on its own. Blended like a creamy chocolate milkshake. Is this the future? Cool, I like it.
Amazing, must-have if you love changing rhythms
author: AndrewThe CD is amazing. Just enough rhythm changes to keep your mind occupied, but slow enough so it's not cluttered. Clean sound with original beats, if you're for the fast drum n' bass down to the slow ambience, this fits somewhere inbetween like a genre of music that hasn't yet been discovered.

author: CoryThis cd is perfect for sitting at home chillin out, walking around town, or to play at anytime of the day. This music can be listened to in great depth or can be put on in the background. It sounds fresh and different then a lot of ambient/down tempo stuff I have listened to, I really love the guitar played throughout the entire cd. If you liked the sample songs from this website definitly buy the cd, it will be sure to satisfy your music needs!
I hope we don't blow up yet. . .

shivers
author: clayRubber gave me shivers, what more could you ask from music? i like that he adds another layer right before you feel like you know what the song is about, which makes you stick around and then ultimately lose yourself in the song. I also like the his sense of harmony, a phrase that starts out, for instance, in a happy mode becomes more complex emotionally as things are added to it.

San Francisco based artist Williamson's debut CD "A Few Things To Hear Before We All Blow Up," is a subtle exercise in rhythmic ambiance. Williamson's compositions not only instill, but also demand, a zen-like stillness in the listener in order to really hear the depth of the music. At first listen the tracks sound like electronic grooves with little else going on, but those that have ears to hear will find evolving layers of textures and melodies that engage the listener in a surprising array of emotional landscapes and sonic drama. All of this allows the disc to have an elastic sense of purpose. It can easily function as non-threatening background music on a sunny day or during a relaxing bath. At the same time, for those seeking something a little more substantial, Williamson delivers a level of artistry that is missing from most music is a similar vein. The CD's song titles such as "What's On The Ceiling Beats What's On TV," "We're All Boned," and "A Pleasant Goodbye From Whore," suggest an irreverent attitude in the artist. While the CD's title, "A Few Things To Hear Before We All Blow Up" is self-deprecating, it also implies a sense of nihilism. When listening to the CD one does not get this sense of negativity. Even when the music turns dark, the overall feeling seems positive. The disc's first three tracks all have a bright, relaxing vibe. When track four, "Time You'll never Get Back" begins to take a darker tone, the darkness seems reflective rather than angst-ridden. With "We're All Boned" Willaimson begins to introduce some dissonance and an eletronica type rhythm to take the listener into more tension filled terrain. Throughout the CD the variations in emotion make the disc a journey that can easily pull you back again and again.
I listened to it, then I blew up.
author: el Mysterioso ClandestinoI recommend you listen to this with a GOOD quality set of heaphones, not that $5 piece of shit you bought at Radio Shack. There is so much going on here, you will find something new everytime you listen. This is where the robot marries Miss Universe, and they become one.

San Francisco-based Wade Williamson is the force behind Williamson, a project that blends electronic music with indie-rock, which he does as part of a local collective of musicians that all like to make this fresh style of music. And yes, it is a fresh style of music. It is very loungy, very laidback music. Music for a sunday morning, or an early monday morning at work. Or for chilling after a night out, chatting with some friends before heading to bed. So now that we know what style this is, what about the music itself? The music is a well-produced mix of electronica and guitar loops. With rhythms that change a lot, and guitar loops that are repeated for a nice entrancing effect. Somehow, this seems to be the electronic answer to post-rock. Repeating melodies, subtle changes, guitars combined with electronics. Music that one can totally lose himself or herself in. Beautiful, dreamy. I'm not sure if this is required listening before we all blow up, but it will definately relax the mind a bit. I'm guessing that it will hit my cd-player on a few occasions where I'd like to just chill.
