notes

Self-described as a "modern rock band", Baltimore, MD's WITZEND has drawn comparisons to Live, U2, Matchbox Twenty, and Vertical Horizon.

Their sound is derived from many influences as each member brings their own unique style to the band.

Bryan Tucker's prog-rock background adds complexity to drummer Wayne Russell Fritz's funk-rock style while bassist Chris Boron's pop and jazz playing fills out Mark Z's Police-infused guitar work.

"We write solid, melodic tunes influenced by great bands like The Police, U2, Rush, and MatchboxTwenty yet maintain an original sound all our own." Supporting "Liquid Comfort" (the new 8 song CD) has the band playing frequently in the Baltimore/ Philadelphia region.

They have played with such bands as SR-71, have participated in several large festivals and rocked numerous college events.

Many local and regional clubs continue to book the band: From Doc Watson's in Philly to the Elbow Room in NYC to the Hard Rock in Baltimore, WITZEND is defined by their energetic live shows.

PA Musician said, "The four members of Baltimore's Witzend deliver an intoxicating stage show. Their deliciously original material is clever, intricate rock."

The future is looking bright for these "modern rockers" from Baltimore. As touring expands, look for WITZEND in your area soon....

Liquid comfort is a poetic journey. Take it into the basement, (or wherever your Hi-Fi is) and turn up the volume, and get ready for a metaphoric journey. The music and lyrics go hand in hand, the music really helps you to feel the mood that the lyricist is trying to impart to you. Why these guys aren't on the radio is beyond me, it seems that people are just into the art of music anymore, they just want something to dance too. My hats off too these gents for not selling out, although it may be tempting in todays music world.
