Xaviera, a native of Bridgeton, New Jersey, has loved music since she was a child and attributes her musical start to singing in her local church choir. At the tender age of 19 Xaviera relocated to Atlanta in pursuit of a career in music. It didn’t take long for Xaviera to realize the music scene in the “Black Music Mecca” wasn’t quite what she had imagined it to be. She laughs as she recalls, “I remember thinking I would run into Babyface in the produce aisle of the grocery store. I would sing for him and be signed to a deal on the spot.” Over time, after growing frustrated and a bit discouraged, Xaviera decided to take a different route. “Why wait for an opportunity when you can create one for yourself?” she asks. Xaviera spent the next couple of years educating herself on the ins and outs of the music business. In early 2004, Xaviera founded her own indie imprint - Sunshyne Music and released her debut album, Sunshine.

Working alongside Georgia producer, A. David Leonard, Xaviera penned all of the songs on her debut effort. The album delivered a smooth, soulful blend of R&B mixed with the youthful sounds of today's Pop and Hip Hop. Often described as the “love album”, Sunshine touched on topics such as: new love, infatuation, heartbreak, and life after love. The combination of vivid lyrics, bright vocals, and warm melodies made Sunshine simply irresistible.

Big Dee, of 89.3 FM Atlanta says: "In every generation, there is one artist that makes you stand up and take notice. Xaviera is this generation's artist”. Xaviera is proving that statement to be very true. The singer/songwriter is still riding high on the success of Sunshine. Less than four months after releasing Sunshine, Atlanta Urban Mediamakers awarded her "Best Independent R&B Artist" during their '1st Annual Indie Awards.' She has won several awards, established steady rotation on Urban Independent Radio, and she has toured in Sweden. From the Atlanta to Australia, Xaviera is becoming a household name in more than 40 countries around the world.

Xaviera is very excited and optimistic as she prepares for the release of her second album, Still Shining, slated for a summer release. Xaviera is rejoining forces with A. David Leonard and promises fans Still Shining will be “Sunshine to the third power”. Xaviera shares, “This album is very special to me because I’ve written about a lot of my own personal struggles and experiences. I want this album to touch people, make them smile, and give them hope.” With lyrics to the title track like: “When the storms of life get me down I know I can make it. Cause through the rain I can see the sun still shining”, Xaviera is sure to meet and exceed her expectations for her upcoming album.

    Hey the CD sunshine steaming hot i love it. I'm the owner of my own independent Recording studio and my artist wil tell anyone i'm very picky on their work and what's out CD's. But when i heard that CD the very first time i said this will be a hit if it gets promotive right. I don't know to much about CD BABY but they looks like they doing a very good job.     Sunshine is nice and soulful, with music that you can bob your head too. It relates to many generations and it is not hard on the ears of young children. It is one of those CD's that when you get in the car on a "SUNSHINE" day and you want to hear something that is not all slow and not all fast but a nice mixture in between. It stirs the soul and touches the mind. I listen to it all the time, it keeps me coming back for more. If you don't have this CD please get one and sit back and enjoy the "SUNSHINE".

    I'm a big "BEAT" person. I love and listen for the beat over the lyrics, so when I first played the album, my ears were positively audibly assaulted by the BUMPIN (yeah, I took it there) BUMPIN beat of the intro track, "Sunshine." I broke my neck and through my hand in the air and waved it 'round like I just didn't care Aaliyah "Back and Forth" style to the beat!! Broke my neck and shook my hips!! I loved it! I knew I was in for a treat with the rest of the album. But before I could proceed, I had to replay the intro over and over about 50 times because I HAD to learn the words so the next time, not only could I bob my head, but I wanted to be able to SANG along with the buttery vocals as well. My personal fave off the album is track 6, "You Got It." I'm LOVIN the beat, (naturally) but I also like the smoothness of the vocals. It's a laidback track that still makes me want to dance around a lil' bit. :-) I suggest to ANYONE who has a house to clean to pick up a copy of "Sunshine." It's that CD you'll ALWAYS want to enjoy while running that vacuum across your floor. I suggest to anyone with a car and a drive to work to pick up "Sunshine" because it's that CD you'll ALWAYS want to enjoy to get your mind off the stresses of the day to come or the day just completed. In short, COP DAT DISC!!!!!

    Xaviera's Sunshine is a refreshing return to authentic R&B. I was able to relate to the lyrics and found myself singing along with the chorus. It's the type of CD you can put in the CD Player and let it play from beginning to end. It's been along time since I've come across such a strong CD. I think Xaviera has a long career ahead of her.
