"An excellent slab of darkly melodic hard rock that bashes together plenty of crunching riffs, a pulsing rhythm section and to-the-point lyrics with a dash of psychedelia to mix things up."

Subj: Drone - the new CD release from Johnny Young
Re : Suggestions for maximum listening enjoyment
Trk 1 : Do some power lifting or run up & down the stairs 47 times, that should get you up to speed for the blazing riff-rocker 'Drone' WAKE THE F*@# UP !!!
Trk 2 : 'If I 'had a special sexy someone to dance & groove with, I'd crank this one up and get down. Powerful vocals & an unstoppable guitar riff keep you movin'.
Trk 3 : ( radio release ) Chunky acoustic gtr leads to a heavy chorus with a big-ass hook. Pocket - rockin' blues to chase away the 'Rain'.
Trk 6 : Soulful with an edgy, plaintive chorus - an 'Avalanche' of tragedy. Drink 1/5 of gin - crank tune - scream - repeat.
Trk 8 : 'One Lie' The sweet harmonies and swaying acoustic bass hide the power of this song's message. Play softly the 'morning after' and know the truth.
Trk 12 : The epic. 'They Eat Their God' Space jam to progressive rock with a big fat groove to keep you tingling. Seek your ally - smoke it - kick back and go for the ride (It ain't over till it's over)
Headphones HIGHLY recomended.

Initial impressions aren't always the best...
author: krycisWhen I fired up Drone, track one: Drone, I was worried that I'd landed a CD of great rock with vocals that make you wish you could change the station. The "droning" of Drone made me hesitant about the rest of the album. Thank god I continued to listen as what seemed to be a warning was just exactly what I'm guessing Johnny wanted to purvey and a precursor to a solid phonic experience. What the rest of the album is, is a hard rock buffet served to you on powerful guitars, pulsing drums, all splashed together with a bit of an electronic twist that only helps in spicing up the sound. Johnny's voice ranges from nearly monotone in track one to powerful beltings akin to Chris Cornell - utterly smashing the impression I had at minute one. After Drone, the album matures greatly to give any rocker pause to say, "this just kicks ass".
Johnny Young rocks!!
author: JohnnyThe future of blues with a metal edge and an alternative sense. Rock redefined in the new century. It's about time, don't you think?
This entire record ROCKS!!!!!!
author: Colden HoffieldIt is my job to listen to music all day every day. Once in a while a CD will come across my desk that makes me stop what I am doing and turn it up. Drone by Johnny Young not only made me turn it up, It made me GET up and play the disc for everyone in the office! This CD is a future classic! I have since seen Johnny Young live and was blown away! Johnny and bassist Christo have an increadible chemistry onstage. The songwriting on the record is stunning. Combining ripping guitar riffs, groovy bass lines and thought provoking lyrics, Johnny Young has succeeded in creating a must have record.
