notes
"Meiying, Beautiful Flower," is a great CD and storybook for the whole family, and perfect for adoptive and waiting families. Travel with Meiying on a magical adventure through an enchanted land. Listen as the story comes to life in a musical rendition with narration, songs, sound effects and musical underscore. Read along in the accompanying 32 page gift book (4.25x5.25) complete with full color illustrations on every page. A fairy tale written in classic folktale tradition, the story is woven from symbolism found in Chinese art and folklore.

Violinist and visual artist, Meg Zivahl-Fox has over 30 years experience playing for the Motion Picture, Television, Recording and Live Concert industries. In addition to her classical performance background, her music career has included a diverse range of performances from live concerts with jazz legends including Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to studio recording for rock and pop icons such as Carly Simon and Madonna. She can be heard on a wide variety of television, commercial and motion picture soundtracks ranging from children's music for Winnie the Pooh and Tiny Toons, commercials for clients including Mattel, American Red Cross, Mercedes Benz and Procter and Gamble, to the filmscores of Motion Pictures series such as The Godfather and Star Trek.
Over the last ten years, Meg has gradually scaled back her musical performances to concentrate on her love of the visual arts. She created a line of nationally distributed greeting cards for Recycled Paper Greetings, and in 1999, what began as a greeting card for a baby shower, evolved into the story of "Meiying, Beautiful Flower." Meg was inspired to create the storybook and musical CD after sharing the experiences of two families adopting children from China, and traveling to the city of Gaomin in the Guangdong province of China to help bring home a dear friend's baby daughter.

Excellent story, great music! A great addition for any family.
author: StaceyMy daughter loves this CD. (I like it too!) We listen to it every night while she goes to bed. The story is easy to understand; perfect for my young 4 year-old daughter. The music is simple yet beautiful. We love the illustrations in the small book; however, we tend to just listen to the CD and not look at the book. My daughter is adopted from China and I highly recommend it to other adoptive families. Actually, I highly recommend it to any family, adoptive or not.
