Senior Web Developer

If you are looking to join a talented team doing meaningful work, then CD Baby may be the place for you. We have an opportunity on our web development team for a motivated and skilled Senior Web Developer.

Essential Functions:

  • As a member of an agile team, take part in the design, architecture, coding, testing and support of web applications used by a large and passionate user community.
  • Work collaboratively with product management to thoroughly understand requirements and share the goal of delivering and continually refining excellent web applications.
  • Work collaboratively with other developers to share best practices and participate on both sides of code and design reviews.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in process, coding standards, designs and requirements.
  • Write clean, testable, reliable code without over-engineering.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert-level programming skill and advanced knowledge of design patterns, algorithms, debugging and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented concepts and extensive experience with the .Net Framework, C#, ASP.Net and SQL Server.
  • Extensive experience with web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and exposure to common JavaScript libraries (JQuery, Knockout, Angular etc.).

Systems Engineer - Network and Systems

The IT team at CD Baby is looking to add to our incredibly dedicated and talented group. We are looking for a Systems Engineer with a core focus of networking both build out and administration experience. It would be incredible if this person also has knowledge of Linux administration at an operational systems, storage, and hosting level.

Primary Skills Desired:

  • Network configuration, scaling and troubleshooting using primarily Cisco, a tiny bit of HP, and other network technologies.
  • IOS skills and working knowledge in routing, switching and firewalls.
  • Strong experience in Windows server solutions.
  • Experience in network and systems level design and scaling of custom developed applications.
  • Install, administer, and update networking gear and servers with patches and application updates.
  • Ensure operating standards are maintained and adhered to.
  • Support application components in a mixed Linux and application environment.
  • Monitor production network and applications.

Secondary Skills Desired:

  • Performance and capacity planning, configuration, implementation and administration of a LAMP based hosting infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Linux OS and application technologies using Ubuntu, Debian, Sun technologies as well as supporting applications and tools.

Director of Music Publishing

CD Baby has a new career opportunity available for a Director of Music Publishing. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities to maximize the avenues of monetization for artists’ original works for which CD Baby has secured the publishing rights. This position is responsible for managing the opportunity identification, artist and songwriter outreach, and deal negotiation, finalization, and implementation. These initiatives can range from highly visible, strategic projects to day to day functional efforts, including data mining and analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and communicate music licensing opportunities.
  • Initiate and bring to close publishing and licensing deals.
  • Communicate progress towards mutually established revenue and quantifiable strategic goals that demonstrate growth in music publishing and licensing business segment.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow CD Baby’s publishing group and drive increased songwriter sign ups.
  • Identify opportunities for sublicensing or co-publishing, ability to reach out to potential partners and get deals closed.
  • Proactively lead internal projects, cooperating with internal stakeholders to develop and execute publishing programs.
  • Work with business stakeholders (CEO, customer service, marketing, digital delivery, operations) to ensure projects and tasks meet business requirements and comply with business timelines of completion.
  • Assist in artist and copyright owner reporting, report specifying and communication.

Scope and Accountability:

  • This individual contributor position will work cross functionally between existing CD Baby departments and among senior management in order to establish and meet annual publishing goals and objectives, specifically targets for revenue growth and success stories of artist monetization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Four or more years experience in music licensing, publishing and/or sync, and a strong understanding of the publishing landscape.
  • Knowledge and working experience as an individual contributor conscribing cross-departmental resources in pursuit of company objectives.
  • Knowledge and working experience in artist development, A&R and artist/songwriter communication.
  • Demonstrated experience, education or knowledge in registering and enforcing composition copyrights.
  • Business development / partnership deal making experience.
  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record in delivering projects in an iterative fashion.
  • Analytical skills necessary to ensure design and draft to final review of documentation including requirements, tasks, and timelines.
  • Knowledge of co-publishing and licensing relationships, economics and structures.

Work Environment:

  • Position is located in Portland, OR and/or external locations.
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of work month to domestic music industry hubs: LA, NY, and Nashville, TN.

Senior ERP Developer

CD Baby is looking for an experienced developer to play a key role on our Dynamics AX development team. This is a hands-on developer role, so candidates must be proficient in x++. This is an opportunity to be a major contributor to CD Baby’s Dynamics AX 2012 implementation. Customer Service Representative

  • Answer and direct incoming calls and emails to the appropriate people within the organization
  • Answer artists and customer questions regarding their accounts, album sign-ups and orders
  • Accurately, complete data entry and enter new prospects/clients into the computer system
  • Enter transactions into computer which will generate mailings to prospects/clients
  • Cover reception/ Greet clients and assist with employee/client meetings
  • Follow proper security guidelines to ensure safety procedures are followed according to company policies
  • Reliability – must be on time, and have good attendance
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Skills:
