Wonder Why

by 12 Gage Blevins

This song is a true mix of my influences: old blues style chord utilization, Tom Waits style vocals and percussion, Eric Clapton style riffs and progression, Warren Zevon style lyrics and then my own flare on the bass guitar and mix. Billy Heller suggested use of a cigarette which led to the line in the song. I used my knowledge from music theory to make the riff and bass unique. I am truly proud of this creation and I hope you enjoy this new branch out for me and my bluesy career.

Album Notes
This song is an experimental step in a more original direction, a TRUE mix of my (12Gage) influences. I have a few more songs I can and will do if this goes over well. Bill Heller suggested the 'Cigarette' line so he contributed in part. This song was done almost all life in two takes: 1- bass and drum 2-guitar and voice. I hope you will enjoy this twist on blues with its creative flare of music theory and blend of different musical approaches.
