ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
7and5 is a sound conception of John H. Nixon which began with the first release "In A Moment's Time" from 2006. It has been an ever growing project; seeking to find new ways to layer sounds and melodies to draw the listener in and provide new and subtle discoveries for the ear with each new listen. It is a musical style (mostly without lyric) that asks the listener to allow them selves to escape into the music, and interpret what it means uniquely to them; to allow themselves to be immersed into the details and nuances of emotion, rhythm, and ambience. While the genre of New Age has taken on a bit of a cliched sense over time, where the sounds of solo guitar or piano, backed with the sound of a running brook has been frankly overdone; 7and5 seeks to re-develop the genre into something comfortably familiar, while also daring into the unexpected.
