Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my song. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I wrote "No Cash For Xmas!" at the request of an associate who wanted to hear what i could come up with when combining the blues with the Christmas theme, but make sure it wasn't depressing. So that's what I did. "No Cash For Xmas!" is inspired by real life with a title that gives you a good idea what it's about right away. But don't worry, it's not a sad dreary tale of woe. It's a fun, bouncy, upbeat, jazzy, bluesy Christmas song that will have you singing along and whistling the tune all day.
I came up with the title during that first conversation with the man who challenged me to write it and before you know it on that first afternoon most of the rest of the song came flowing right out of me and onto the paper. I didn't give it any more thought till the next morning when I read over the first part of the song and the rest of it seemed to be waiting in my head waiting to come out. I didn't rewrite it a hundred times or pine over it for days and weeks. Maybe I should have. The only changes between the first demo and this finished Masterpiece is the Flavor and Personality that the Incredibly Talented Producer Carl McGregor of Diamond Mine Productions brought to the project.
I don't know if it means anything to you as a listener, but "No Cash For Xmas!" was awarded the highest level "Auddy" award on uplaya.com with a rating of 9.8. Also being released as part of a Christmas Jazz compilation CD in Poland that reached "Gold Record" status almost immediately (within weeks) over the first Christmas season released.
