ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE LIST **** [4 stars] "Coca Tenorio’s vibrant, serenading voice moves from celebration to yearning, through melodies Andean, Latin and South American. Grounded in undulating Afro-Latin rhythms, her songs tell stories of life and love with zingy undercurrents. The musicianship is stunning and Coca Tenorio is a real find."

THE SCOTSMAN **** [4 stars] "Coca Tenorio's self-produced solo album is another very accomplished piece of work. She may be based as a clothes designer in Inverness, and some of the instrumental accompaniments have a Portuguese colouring, but her versatile voice evokes her Latin-American roots with assurance".

Fun Ecuadorian Music from the Highlands of Scotland (not a phrase used every day
Highly recommended, with every track immediately enjoyable. Listen and you will find yourself singing along to every chorus on the first listening, and you cannot say that about many CDs (especially ones that are not in my native tongue).
Also very track has a notable stand-out part - a bit of jazzy guitar, some unusual piano, a laugh here, a spoken section there, some strangely poppy phrases, even a bit rocky in places. Enjoy this. Coca's CD is fun.
