ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Debut full-length CD from GALLOWS END, a traditional heavy metal band out of Arvika, Sweden. Features the acclaimed “Kingdom of the Damned” and “The Unborn Flag” as well as the Maiden-esque “Riders of the North.”

GALLOWS END plays fast, aggressive, melodic metal in the tradition of Judas Priest, Accept and Iron Maiden, but brings it into the modern times with influence from bands like Sinergy and Gamma Ray. Originally conceived as a one-man project of multi-talented frontman Thord Klarström, GALLOWS END has grown to a full four-piece lineup. After releasing an attention-getting 3-song demo in 2007 that garnered critical and fan praise, work began on a full-length CD. The promise hinted at in the demo recordings comes to fruition on NEMESIS DIVINE – guitar-centered and laden with catchy riffs and melodies, the lyrics run from the haunting title track to the rousing “Not Your Own” to the infectious “Soul Collector.”

With clean, but gritty and powerful vocals, well-placed harmonies, talented instrumentation and songwriting, and strong production values, NEMESIS DIVINE is what a metal album should be – 59 minutes of bone-crushing, head-banging, neck-snapping, face-melting metal fun

Reviews: (early reviews of tracks on Nemesis Divine and 2007 3-track demo)

"Panning for riches in a long barren stream, Farvahar Records have unearthed a Swedish nugget even a stingy German goldsmith can't deny is precious Metal: GALLOWS END." - Mark Gromen, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles

“I’ll be very disappointed if their debut album isn’t a contender for the best of 2010.” – Rock on the Web (UK)

"What’s on this ‘demonstration’ is old school heavy metal at its best and reminds me of bands like Iced Earth, Fifth Angel and Eidolon." - Fury Rocks (The Netherlands) “Here everything was done right: the song writing, the instrumental playing – especially the guitars – and the vocals. Watch out for the debut album – it might be the next big thing in the world of heavy metal!” – Metal-almanac.com (Germany)
