Album Notes
Gravel Poets was formed in Dublin in 2009 from a group of hard working musicians looking to explore fresh approaches. It is an album with armour from all genres including Metal, Blues, Punk, Folk and even Classical. The concrete Drums of Kahlile Vial set a platform for the tangled melodies of Esa Finn's guitar work as it contrasts with Piano and Vocal themes through out the Album. The opening track is a nostalgic masterpiece that weaves easily into the imagination and sets the theme for the first few opening tracks. There is a slow surge towards an energetic cresendo through the album, with the visionary lyrics jumping around within the complex guitar structures and Piano work. Ending on a platform, (a train station to be precise) the nostalgia and imagery continues to haunt until the very end. The sound of the piano pedal being released at the end of the final track is a soft landing back into reality...
