The 3rd long awaited CD from Hotrod Hillbillies is probably the best recording and song writing to date. Lead man Xavier Ortiz from Austin, Texas collected a great group of musicians from LA which features Tony Slash (The Rocketz) on Slap Bass, David Cisneros (Badluck Bandits) on cowbell/double kick drums, and Al Martinez (Moonlight Trio/Sugar Daddys) on Pedal/Lap Steel and guitar.
The album is chocked full of different fun styles from Rockabilly, Punkabilly and Country like Cowpunk. Starting with “Good Bad Ugly” which refers to any group of guys that like to start fights and ruin a good time. The fast and furious single “You Wanna Race” with has a nice break down that sounds like an engine. The sultry tune “Big and Tall” which is all about a Texas woman. A comical Country like tune about “Three wives“, and a chicken picken/cowbell filled instrumental known as “Poultry Love”.
The album continues with the howling and growling vocals of a sex filled song behind a Rockabilly riff called “Here I come”. The punkabilly tune of a scorn woman who created her own “Evil Delusions”. A country favorite turned Punk with pedal steel and double kick “Good Hearted Woman”. A fun and fantastic hillbilly tune called “Probation”. Followed by Country tunes with Lap/Pedal Steel “Take this Whiskey” and the hardship of loosing your job and all that follows “Terrible Wrong”.
