Dance of Light

by Matthew Dewey

The work was written as an abstract reaction to the concept of light dancing, as city lights do on wet city streets, or as auroras do, lighting up the sky.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Dance of Light is an electronically treated solo piano work originally composed for a street theatre piece for the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2008. On a busy city street, an acrobat constructs a tall ladder that extends from a manhole metres into the air, and dances in the light.

The work was written as an abstract reaction to the concept of light dancing, as city lights do on wet city streets, or as auroras do, lighting up the sky.
