The name ‘Mya Daniel’ is a household name in Barbados and this young lady is no stranger to the gospel music arena. She has shared her ministry at numerous local, regional and international events, not only in the capacity of soloist, but also as background vocalist for internationally acclaimed gospel artistes such as Calvin Bernard Rhone, Tremaine Hawkins, Douglas Miller and Rev. James Moore and was recently honoured with the 2010 Barbados Music Award for Gospel Artiste of the Year.
This treasure was almost lost in 1998 to a deadly illness, and after being given 24 to 48 hours to live, God miraculously restored her. She was later told that as a result of the ordeal, she may never sing again, but today her voice resounds in praise.
Having attracted international attention as a result of her ordeal, the world was anxiously awaiting the release of this album, as evidenced by the frequency of requests and phenomenal amount of airplay of just one (1) of the 14 tracks which was pre-released for Christmas 2007. This track entitled ‘This Little Child’ (and traditionally associated with the Christmas season) was played from Christmas Eve 2007 until Easter 2008 on various radio stations. In 2008, the track was in such demand, that airplay began early in November and continued up until January 6th, 2009.
Having launched this testimony album, the public is now even more ‘abuzz’ at its freshness, its excellent standard, its power. It was produced in High-definition and features musical genius in the likes of André Daniel, Darien Bailey, De Red Boyz, Nicholas Brancker, Elan Trotman and the background vocal styling of some of Barbados’ best: Tamara Marshall, Indra Rudder, Karen Marissa Lindsay Griffith, Indra Rudder, Paula Hinds, Allison Norville-Forde, James Leacock, Sheldon Hope to just to name a few. Special solo guest appearances are made by Barbados’ own Raphael Saul and leading Caribbean artist Stitchie.
The album has proven to be life-changing for many (including Mya), and having seen God’s power manifested through its music in a most miraculous way, Mya Daniel vows that as long as she has breath, she will continue serving the Lord and ministering for Him.
