What do you get when you fuse together dance, rock, r&b, and hip hop? “Electric Nikkiland"
A year in the making has been the works of “Electric Nikkiland” in which Nikki Carabello has written, co-produced, and overseen every last detail of the album. Since she began her musical journey over 10 years ago, she has always had a passion for classic rock, blues, dance, and everything in between. Fueling this love of all music, she wanted to create something that represented all of which she loves. “I grew up listening to classic rock like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. The emotion, the vision, the incorporation of multiple musical instruments and creative sounds is something that has not be duplicated with today’s “popular” music in my opinion.I wanted to use all of the elements that I love about music and create a musically and lyrically diverse piece of art."
Each song creates a story whether drawing from personal experience or coming from a metaphoric aspect. “I have several songs on the album that draw from personal situations, most notably the track “Window” in which I delve into the emotion of my mother leaving me as a child. There is also “My Boo” which is written about my 1st love aka my husband. There are other songs in which I observed behaviors and situations of people around me and used them to create story’s that I feel most people could relate to in different ways. I wanted every song to create an emotion, whether it happy, sad, sexy, silly, or empowered. It is scary and exciting to be the sole writer of your album. You want people to like it, love it, relate to it. The fear that they won’t, is what it drives the album to be better.”
