ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"THE WOLF IS BAD" IS NOMINATED FOR 2011 BEST CHILDREN'S SONG BY THE INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS!!!

"...An Entertaining Masterpiece!..." Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.

What happened after the wolf blew down the pigs houses? They hired a lawyer and went to court of course!! Listen in to the funny story and clever lyrics that are creating a new generation of opera lovers worldwide!

The Three Piggy Opera is the whimsical story of what happened AFTER the wolf blew down the Pigs' houses. The Pigs are angry, living with their mom and up to their chinny-chin-chins in insurance claims. So they do what any wronged law-abiding person (or pig) would do -they hire the best lawyer they can find and take the wolf to court. They think they have the case in the bag, afterall, everybody knows about the Big Bad Wolf. Everybody knows Wolves eat Pigs. The Wolf is given a public defender, the paparazzi is having a field day, and the jury is ready to convict and get back to their lives (And it doesn't hurt that the Judge is the Pigs cousin either) But as the court case progresses we see the wolf for who she really is, not big and bad at all, but an out-cast vegetarian with severe allergies due to the Santa Ana winds. The Pig's straw house set off her allergies, and with one good sneeze, down went the house. Will the Wolf be able to convince the Court she is innocent? What will the ruling be? Listen in and find out!

Virginia Landis Stewart founded ONCE UPON AN OPERAtm in 2008 with the mission to ignite a passion in children for classical music and to promote their intellectual development through the literary arts.
Currently six opera stories are complete (THE THREE PIGGY OPERA, RED RIDING HOOD, THE KID WHO CRIED WOLF, SLEEPING BEAUTY, EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES, KING MIDAS), with an additional seven in development. Each 20-minute opera story introduces original lyrics and twists on well-known classical music and fairytales, creating a literacy connection through music. Life lessons, good morals and sound decisions are always part of the story mix. The result is a fun and engaging method for developing passion in children of the rich complexity of the performing arts and opera. Whether singing a lead part, joining in the chorus or listening to a recording at home, every ONCE UPON AN OPERAtm production is a delightful and memorable experience for all.

Virginia and her husband, operatic Baritone Alex Britton, are the proud parents of five daughters, a puppy and a turtle named Sneakers. Amidst the chaos, she has developed this original art form that combines classical music, classical dance and classic fairy tales (albeit with modern twists) in an effort to get her own children interested in the Arts. What she has created has enthralled audiences of all ages worldwide and which in turn is producing a whole new generation of classical music lovers.

The Three Piggy Opera
This CD is wonderful to listen to for the young and old. We love to play it in the car while we are driving around town. The songs are up lifting and fun to listen to! You won't be disappointed with this purchase!

Better Than Backyardigans!
I'm blown away by the performances of these children. The compositions and lyrics are witty and fun. The quality is far beyond what I would expect is even possible. Having two toddlers, I'm used to listening to the Backyardigans singing along to classical tunes, but this CD puts them to shame.

Three Piggy Opera
I LOVED this CD. It is very clever. It has amusing lyrics, with classical music masterpieces, such as Beethovean, Mozart, Schumann.
Most importantly, my 10 year old son, wants to listen to it over and over (as we are in the car far too often.) It is great for children and adults alike, catchy lyrics with great music.

So original!
My kids and I heard this playing on the radio and laughed through the whole thing! Very funny lyrics and I like that they used well-known classical music that my kids already knew. I bought it and my youngest (5 years old) hasn't stopped listening to it! We are starting to have spontaneous opera outbreaks in our house and I love it!
