Album Notes
After seeing and feeling the Katrina spectacle on TV , I decided to "Reach Out" and write an album sensitive to the plight of those affected by this event. The songs take the listener through this experience which involes pain, sorrow and joy. "Reach Out" is the song anthem of calling on others to help. "The Water Ain't Blue" describes what was seen by the residents. "Give Me Some Relief" is the cry of those suffering, "Deep Water Blues" is the heart felt emotion exhibited by a person who is alone with his mortality contemplating his fate. "River Run" is the spritual symbolism of the church revival, where people would go to the river to be baptised. It's presented as an instrumental. "Delta" is a strong feeling for the area symbolized in the same feeling as if she was a woman. "Its a New Day" signifies a strength to move ahead with the assurance of prayer and love. "Dixieland Man" looks back on the history of the area with music being a center of cultural pride. "Red Beans and Rice" reflects on a southern cousine associated with the traditions of the area. "A Good Time" gives the listener a chance to breath and feel good this story was told. 'Reach Out' "Reprise thanks the listeners for taking the time and realize there is hope for humanity. "Deep Water Blues" will stand the test of time for there will always be the potential for another "Hurricane" Thanks for listening, peace and blues, Paul Miles
