Geoffrey Bradfield

The Rum Fellows album
Fantastic ,rollicking good cd ,I love the gravelly voice of the lead singer and the swinging band gives new life to these old favourite sea shanties and folk songs.Being an Aussie I was thrilled to hear a couple of Aussie songs here as well, first time I've heard someone play ''the Old Keg of Rum'' a really bouncy version too. Also, good to hear ''Cape Cod Girls'' ,although this is more the American version of an Aussie song called ''Codfish Girls'' where the place ''Cape Cod'' is replaced by ''Melbourne'',my home town. Its very interesting how all these old songs got different versions all over the seafaring world, nobody worried about copyright in those days.
Sure hope to hear more from this band.
