ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
S'helft Nisht Keyn Krekhtsn! is a collection of five original works of fiction inspired by the ironies of modern-day life. Told in Yiddish, these stories are reminiscent of the tales of the shtetl, proving once again that There's No Use Complaining!
The themes, storylines and presentation will appeal especially to those for whom Yiddish is mame loshen, their mother tongue. Told in heart-warming Yiddish, It will also be a treat for those who have retained a smattering of the words they "picked up" from their parents around the kitchen table. Lastly this cd offers today's many participants in Yiddish revival, a rare opportunity to enrich their Yiddish experience with this portrayal of life through the prism of our inimitable Yiddish idiom.

Created, written and performed by Sam Hoffer, this work combines his unique perspective, born of a lifetime in Canada and vibrant Yiddish roots that stem from his birthplace, the famed city of Czernowitz.
