ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bucks and Does is an early Rizzetta solo instrumental album that was recorded at Ohio University after Sam left the influential band Trapezoid. The tunes include some popular jam session favorites as well as Rizzetta originals. Hammer dulcimer is featured while mountain dulcimer is played on 4 pieces. Instruments used are 1960's and 1970's vintage Rizzetta dulcimers.

Sam Rizzetta has been nominated for a National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship for lifetime achievement in the arts. His many innovations helped create the modern hammer dulcimer, and his handmade instruments have been exhibited by the Smithsonian Institution, the National Folk Festival, the West Virginia Cultural Center, and featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine.
