ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tripsville, California, February 28 – Spellbound, Los Angeles’ own funky tropical musical duo, will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with the release of their new album United Front, on February 28, 2010. Founders Paul “Pablo” Thomas & Bobby Moon with their multi-cultural band are one of the longest-running Independent acts on the West Coast and are longtime supporters of the Independent music scene. Their new album is the first Spellbound album to be recorded and mixed at their new state-of-the-art Tripsville Studio. Throughout the album’s slinky grooves are guest appearances from Ozomatli’s Asdru Sierra, ex-Jellyfish Roger Manning, Jr., and British soul vocalist Mark Adams.

LBMO.COM (June/July 2010) Review:
SPELLBOUND
United Front
(Selfish Recordings)
Los Angeles funqueros Paul Thomas and Bobby Moon are back with the latest musical adventures of the saga of their group, Spellbound. United Front finds the dynamic duo of Latin funk and all things alternative unleashing a handful of original scores and a couple of covers, including the Rolling Stones classic Let's Spend The Night Together and La Lupe's Soul Salsa, all bearing the unique sound and flavor of Spellbound. Guest musicians in the production include Astru Sierra (trumpet), Roger Manning Jr. (Electric piano and Mellotron), and vocalists Candi Sosa and Mark Adams. All songs are arranged and produced by Paul Thomas and Bobby Moon with additional horn arrangements by Mike Daigeau and Astru Sierra. Favorite tracks include Witch Doctor, Find Time for Love, and Catchin' Up. — Rudy Mangual
