Album Notes
Cyclogenesis - the intensification or development of a violently rotating windstorm. This is an intensification of what Spider Lilies were before. This album is more agressive, more electronic, more danceable and club-friendly. The lyrics remain dark and emotional, with rich harmonies and a colder, crisper, electronic sound.

Excellent Album
This is the next step in the growth of Spider Lilies. A much more aggressive, dark lyrical tone to it than their debut effort In The Light. Starting from the first track, Pay, you can feel the aggression and dark emotional feeling to it. Rare is it to find an album that doesn't have a throwaway track on it. This happens to be one of those albums. From the very beginning, every track presents a punch to it, while keeping a danceable feel to it. The best tracks on the cd happen are Pay, Surgery, and Metaphor, but as I mentioned all the tracks on this album happen to be very good.

If there's a very slight negative to the CD is that sometimes the music starts to overwhelm Stacey Campbell's vocals. That's not enough though to detract from an album that is very mature, dark, yet very embracable. If you are a fan of I:Scintilla, Cruxshadows, or Ego Likeness, you should like this one. Definitely a band to keep your eye on, and a CD to pick for your collection. Grade: A
