ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Popular with teachers who prefer classical music in their class, the tracks are long and melodic. Tracks 1 - 17 are barre exercises, Tracks 18 - 30 for Centre. I chose pieces that are not regularly heard or known, not the old standards. Several pieces from Balanchine's "Donizetti Variations" are included, as well as Tchaikovsky's memorable "Barcarolle" used in the ballet "Eugene Onegin". Pirouette exercises are exceptionally long, and a Petit Allegro done to a Polonaise. For a more academic approach to ballet teaching, "Sounds of Classics" will surely be a perfect fit!
