Album Notes
Country Music fans all over the world know that Tony Douglas’ past recordings have been absolutely outstanding. He helped to set the barrier that so many artists have tried to achieve. After Listening to “Saved the Best for Last”, I have to agree that Tony has found some of the best songs of his career. The arrangements and style is truly refreshing. I had to listen time and time again to “The Richest Man Alive”, “Let Me Be The Man” and “She’s Not Just My Lady.” “More Afraid of Living” may be one of the best songs ever written. Tony delivers a package of hits, but what else would I expect from a man who knows how to pick a hit and sing it too.

Tony Douglas has had many tremendous records through his long career, and I know this better than anybody because I have every one of them. This being said, I can with strong conviction say that Tony has outdone himself with his latest CD. This is a fantastic collection of songs I know you will enjoy. Tony, you did indeed save the best for last!

I have listened to and enjoyed Tony Douglas’ music many years. After 50 years of Tony being in the music business he is still one of the Greats in Country Music. His concerts are enjoyed by his many fans each year. Tony is very dedicated to his Lord and Savior, family, friends, and fans. I believe that this CD is the greatest piece of work that Tony has done in his career. Never before have so many potential number of songs been included on a single CD. Hopefully, this will not be Tony’s last CD, but if in fact it is, he certainly “Saved the Best for Last.”

I recorded Tony Douglas the first time in my parents’ living room before I had built Robin Hood Studios. It’s hard to believe that Tony’s voice is still so strong and warm at 80 years of age. This CD is Tony’s best by far. Put it on, and relax to some of the greatest country music you’ll ever hear. Strong songs with strong performances! Tony’s at his best on this CD! It’s a pleasure and honor to work with Tony Douglas.

This man is a living legend. Tony Douglas will touch your heart with his beautiful songs of Country Music. Like one of his songs “Thank You For Touching My Life”. He sings from his heart and soul in all of his hit songs. His new CD album “Saved the Best for Last” is an outstanding marvel of songs of the heart and of our times. Like a good book, you can’t put it down – you want to listen to it and enjoy over and over again. As a Country Music DJ for more than forty years, I was thrilled to be picked by Tony to play his very first record on the air in his hometown radio station KBUD.

They say, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

I don’t know who ‘they’ are, but they obviously haven’t heard the new album by Tony Douglas! The country legend who has entertained thousands of fans for over half a century has managed to reinvent himself without compromising his country roots. The songs on this album feature an energized Tony Douglas reminiscent of the eager young man who walked into the studio all those years ago to record “Old Blue Monday”. Tony explores new territory in both subject matter and vocal presentation. In this album, he goes places I’ve never heard him go, and hits notes I’ve never heard him hit. Don’t get me wrong. This is the same Tony Douglas we all know and love, but with something new that will bring a new legion of fans to his music!

They say, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” My friend, ‘they’ are wrong!

I have followed Tony Douglas’ career for over fifty years and I believe this CD represents the best and more hit-potential songs that many of his earlier recordings. We are pushing the first singe “More Afraid of Living” and I expect other great singles from this collection. Tony’s singing, the production, and the music are top quality. I think you will like this new Tony Douglas CD. I sure do.
