ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
VIZA = A passport into a musical endeavor that touches its conspirators, cultural, spiritual, and literal influences, while translating them into a perfect balance of old world nostalgia, modern experimentation and social revival.

A step in the right direction
Having been a Viza fan for a while I have heard their previous works as well as their most recent songs both live and recorded. I must say that I was delighted to finally hear their most recent album "Made in Chernobyl." It takes what Viza did in the past and pushes it forward into a more hard rock style with a bit of ethnic flair that packs the whole thing full of an energy that is decidedly unique to them. If you liked songs like Siktir and Keyhole from the previous album, this is the right purchase for you. There is a definite soviet inspired theme for this album (obviously), and it's not just in title and art direction, you can really hear it in songs like "Made in Chernobyl" and "The Uzbek Brothel."

Anyways, my point is, this thing is packed with songs and any Viza fan should get a hold of. I feel that the sound direction they have decided to go in fits them very well and hope to hear more like this is the future.

No Surprise
Just as amazing as all their previous work. There isn't a single bad track. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed!
