ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Whipps eight song debut CD “Ghettobillies” features a hick-hop, countrypolitan sound blending traditional country instrumentation like banjo and madolin, with hip hop and rock sensibilities.

The first single, “Rodeo (Cowboy Up)” is currently in regular rotation on country radio station WLGC 105.7, Ashland, KY, with regional radio plays on WTCR 103.3, Catlettsburg, KY and WDGG 93.7 “The Dawg,” Huntington, WV.

The "Ghettobillies" CD features up tempo, rockin' original songs like the title track, an homage to livin' in the country and partyin' like a supa star. Track 4, "Giddy Up" is guaranteed to make you shake your moneymaker, and track 5, "Got Mud" is The Whipps version of a song written by Nashville chart toppers Jared Neiman and Monty Criswell, (Criswell recently co-wrote George Strait's #1 hit "I Saw God Today.")

This is the band’s first CD release and is available for preview online at www.MySpace.com/TheWhippsBand and www.TheWhippsBand.com. Purchase the CD at The Whipps live shows, or online at iTunes and www.CDBaby.com.

Five Stars!!!!!!
I know Don Hanshaw from a band he used to play with and loved him. I love this CD. There is not one song that I don't dislike on there. I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! I would love to see the Band if they will come and play here in Tennessee.

I got Whipped and I loved it!
I saw The Whipps show at 93.7 The Dawg's Pullman Square concert in Huntington, WV and fell in love with the guys and their hick hop brand of country. I bought the CD "Ghettobillies" and it is blaring from my stereo speakers as I write this review. Every song is great! I especially love the title track, Rodeo, and Giddy Up. They are party songs that make me wanna put on my mini skirt and cowboy boots and go out trawlin for trailor trashy boys. When I find the right one we can swap sweat to Honestly. You should buy this CD too!!!! They're gonna be on the CMA's someday soon.
