The Whipps eight song debut CD “Ghettobillies” features a hick-hop, countrypolitan sound blending traditional country instrumentation like banjo and madolin, with hip hop and rock sensibilities.
The first single, “Rodeo (Cowboy Up)” is currently in regular rotation on country radio station WLGC 105.7, Ashland, KY, with regional radio plays on WTCR 103.3, Catlettsburg, KY and WDGG 93.7 “The Dawg,” Huntington, WV.
The "Ghettobillies" CD features up tempo, rockin' original songs like the title track, an homage to livin' in the country and partyin' like a supa star. Track 4, "Giddy Up" is guaranteed to make you shake your moneymaker, and track 5, "Got Mud" is The Whipps version of a song written by Nashville chart toppers Jared Neiman and Monty Criswell, (Criswell recently co-wrote George Strait's #1 hit "I Saw God Today.")
