Aaron Michael

by Aaron Michael

Kick back grooves, sexy sax solos, jacked up guitar riffs and a basement jazz feel throughout, one could even go as far as saying that this could be the quite quintessential Australian styled jazz album.” – Sammy Al (Eastside radio)

Album Notes
Simply titled "Aaron Michael" this debut album features a line-up of some of Sydney's finest musicians; Matt McMahon (piano), Paul Derricott (drums) Duncan Brown (bass), Dieter Kleemann (guitar) and Aaron Michael (tenor and soprano saxophone).

"Aaron's really weighed-in with a cracker with his inaugural album as leader. A great collection of compositions beautifully rendered & improvised upon by a fantastic team of players." Steve Hunter

Aaron followed his own original concept, choosing some of Sydney finest musicians, for a collaboration that united players from very different parts of the jazz community. The collaboration has resulted in innovation, an individual and unique sound that will resonate with an audience as diverse as the musicians.

"I believe good music should speak for itself. This beautifully performed and recorded album does this, taking the listener on a journey through many landscapes and discoveries that could only be Aaron Michael." James Ryan

“The opening Leytonstone (by Michael) stands out: reminiscent of the sort of instantly appealing, country-tinged melody that Keith Jarrett used to write in the 1970s” – John Shand
