Corey Zink, the lead singer for Acoustic Blue continues to win audiences over with his traditional country style of singing. His impeccable singing capability has been compared to George Jones and Randy Travis. Corey conveys a unique style of mandolin playing, which portrays an old time sound and classic country feel and adds to the group’s diversity and helps define his character. As a song writer for the band, Corey has written several of the groups most requested songs. It’s hard not to take notice when you hear a great singer backed by a solid bluegrass band.
Bear Acker, who is known for his sweet baritone lines and solid bass playing, has over 35 years of performing experience. For Acoustic Blue, he brings a traditional Bluegrass and Folk style of singing, which has been compared to Larry Sparks. This vocal style plays a large part in the band’s sound. Bear puts his heart into his playing and singing and plays every show like it’s his last.
Mike VanAltyne, the banjo player for Acoustic Blue, sings the high lonesome tenor lines and plays a dynamic style of banjo through which he brings a contemporary sound to the band. Mike is known for being able to compliment any song with his unique style of playing. He has been performing on the Bluegrass circuit for over 15 years. Mike sings with true emotion and always puts his all into the Acoustic Blue’s shows.
Shaun Batho, who is known for his solid rhythm guitar playing, has been entertaining for over 26 years. He always brings a touch of class to the stage. As the heart beat of Acoustic Blue, his style, which compliments each song, has been compared to Carter Stanley and Del McCoury. Loving what he does, Shaun brings true passion to every performance.
