ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Across the Lines” is a collaborative audio project that explores new avenues of expression across the lines of age, music, technology, and storytelling.
We conducted a series of workshops in which we gave a group of Good Samaritan Christenson Village residents (multi-level care facility) the opportunity to play with a variety of different musical instruments--piano, ukuleles, percussion, and more -- as well as technological tools, such as iPad and iPhone applications.
Everyday sounds of elevators, common area discussions, and improvised music creation was added to the mix.
The music they created was incorporated into an original score created with five very talented musicians from the Sunshine Coast region of British Columbia. A musical album which features samples of spoken-word stories, quotes, and interactions from the participants as they ruminate on a wide range of topics including family, friendship, love, loss, history, and life.
Please have a listen and explore our website to learn more about this project, the inspiring participants, and the incredible potential of musical engagement and creative play.
