Through her unique combinations of original lyrics, Ade (AH-day), as she is often called, has given worship music a universal feel. For instance, the single Omo Kiniun Eya Judah (Son of the Lion of Judah), infuses English lyrics with a Yoruba chorus—not to mention a little rap for good measure. In I’m Available, Ade shows her gifting as a jazz balladeer in her contralto voice, while Only You (Sonso Gi) has a mellow but traditional Ibo sound. With the high-energy synthesized sound of Don’t You Ever Give Up, she motivates listeners to do just that—never give up on their dreams.
Adepeju successfully breaks down the language barrier, inspiring believers through the spirit of each song, no matter their native tongue. Her music acknowledges that God is not limited by geography and neither is the sound of His worship.
“I am a psalmist, a prophetic voice to the nations,” Ade says. “My goal is to sing and affect the lives of people, to set them as the victors they are in Christ."
Ade draws from a musical background of diverse experience. She has been a background vocalist for notable African artists, as well as a praise and worship leader and soloist in various churches.
"This CD Project will bless the innermost parts of your very being. As I listen to the songs, I feel that I become a part of the song. Though some songs are in a language that I don't know the essence of each song still ministers."
