Album Notes

The new CD by Afro Elements follows on from their debut album in the style of Jazz Funk, with added Fusion flavours in ddition to an array of great guest musicians.

It once again features a large brass section, in addition to two new vocalists. The album also features as it’s special guest musician Barry Finnerty who is the former guitarist of many legendary artists including, The Crusaders, The Brecker Brothers, Hubert Laws, Billy Cobham and many more.

Other guests on the album include Graeme Flowers (trumpet) who has played with everyone from The Sunburst Band, to Kylie Minogue and even Clint Eastwood! Also featured is Andy Ross, who has worked with Incognito and The Herbaliser amongst
many other bands.
The main vocalist on the album is Fraser Jowle, who’s main recording output has been with dance producer JD73, having appeared on his Pure Gold album released on Joey Negro’s Z Records. The other guest vocalist is Cherri V, who in addition to her own vocal career is backing singer to UK pop star Jessie J.
The album contains 10 tracks (see listing below), featuring 9 original compositions, in addition to a cover of the classic Beatles song Eleanor Rigby - a very different Fender Rhodes-led instrumental version.

If you like Incognito, The Sunburst Band, Earth Wind & Fire or even late 70s Jeff Lorber (who was a guest on their debut album), you’ll like this album a lot. Real music with real musicians and plenty of groove to go around.
