AJ's love for music started at a young age, being influenced in the early days by Michael Jackson, 90’s Hip-Hop, Sizzla and Big L to name but a few.
Growing up in Swindon, at the age of 15 AJ regularly brought old school Garage and Drum & Bass tape packs. He used the lyrics of other MC's to recite and rehearse which progressed to him putting pen to paper and writing his own verses. The next few years were spent writing and practising at home and house parties doing freestyles and MC’ing in front of small crowds and at the age of 17 AJ started performing at small events and at the New College battles.
When he turned 18, AJ organised his first event where he performed with Beatbullyz and other local artists along side a headline act. This event was a complete success and, after organising several more events, AJ was approached to work and host his own events at The Brunel Rooms. By this time AJ was performing regularly on the local circuit as well as starting to gig out of town at venues such as Stratford Rex and Room 2 in Brixton Academy, London.
AJ entertainment was established in 2004 promoting events on a regular basis, giving him the opportunity to be on stage to perform; this was a major part in the development of AJ as a stage performer.
2008 saw the release of his first project 'The Way I See It'. This project was mainly Hip-Hop with elements of Reggae, Drum & Bass, Dub Step & Indie. This was the point that AJ moved on from MC'ing to Drum & Bass and more towards story telling over slower tempo'd Hip-Hop beats, drawing on inspiration from life experiences producing rhymes and lyrics that fans of all ages can relate too
In Feb 2010 AJ met up with local Swindon producer MrO and started working on the 'Lyricologist' album which is the latest project due for release 24th April 2011. AJ has also recently filmed and released music videos for 4 of the featured tracks.
At present, 25 year old AJ has developed from being a rapper, with a rapidly growing fan base, to also being a well known MC, Host and event organiser all across the Country, organising events from Drum & Bass and Dub Step to Hip-Hop and commercial music.
